WOODWORKING

I created an adjustable laptop stand with a light bar underneath. I wanted to have a way to elevate my laptop for my desk, and I had seen aluminum versions online before, but I wanted mine to be wood to match the aesthetic of my desk. The hardest parts of this process were finding hinges that would be strong enough, attaching the lightbar, and finding a thing but hardy wood. I ended up using ply wood with a walnut custom verneer to support the weight of a laptop.
I began by creating the top and bottom plates, attaching the hinges and creating the legs that connect the platforms. Once the main structure was built and sanded, I attached a light bar using different adhesives and cut a slot so that it could still fold flat.

Process

As a second project, I worked on a minimalist pen holder. I chose this project for its simplicity as well as to supplement my love of pens. It required drilling an angled hole that could hold a pen properly and rasping as well as intense sanding to create the smooth final product.
