Short Film

For our new experience, my friend Jonathan and I set about to make a series of short films. We both had not really ever tried cinematography and had to learn different aspects from setting up shots, framing, and lighting, to editing together the footage and color grading it. We started off initially just walking around our neighborhoods and the north end, trying to record real-life examples of common ideas, such as the color red. Later after putting together some demos, we progressed to writing our own script and setting our sights on creating a short film about pens.
Starting Out
We decided to focus on the utility of pens,
which are the bridges connecting ideas and reality. We shot in a variety of locations, our houses, Boston, stores etc. We used different tools which we had never used before, and Mr. Gaines graciously provided us with many unique items such as a macro lense and dolly slider. We also used different ways of filming between 2 cameras and our phones, and used gimbles and tripods to craft unique shots.

Here's a look at our film! Currently we are working on adding subtitles, sound affects, and sound composition to give the video more depth. The current backing audio is just a temporary substitute based on our script.
